'testa di brangelina' reflects on the star-making power of art in a post-literate, image-driven culture – the seductions and dangers of post-modern metamorphosis.

The 'Pitt' profile is visible at 0° and the 'Jolie' profile at 180°. Turning the form 90° to the left or right revealed the hybrid “Brangelina” profile — a merging of the facial features of each individual. The continuous 360° form reads as a pair of conjoined masks: no brain, hollow within. This profile is reflected infinitely in the mirrors between which the sculpture sits.

Narcissus became enamoured of his reflection in the river's surface, fell in and drowned. Similarly, the modern artist risks a fatal erosion of his or her “authentic” self by investing too deeply in the faux identity reflected in a million screens.
